In the last few months they've had people working on concept art and model rendering for the Hobgoblin units within the CD roster. I'm much less sure about this idea but if they don't do the HK now then it may never happen. I was pretty sure about Cathay before and most people that was out of the question. Yeah, "optimistic" was my implied disclaimer. Most people acknowledged that it’s an unrealistic scenario even if it’s a possibility. Maybe they had to wait anyways because of GW and OW.

If CA actually had that much of free time to develop a whole new race from scratch(and according to them creating brand new races is very hard) then why didn't they just release Chaos Dwarfs earlier? How does that make sense? It looks more like a whole lot of wishful thinking, rather than a possibility. There'd be a huge upswell of goodwill from fans with a FLC drop like this.īut with the extra dev time since our last real content drop and the overlap in assets between the two races, it's certainly a possibility. I'd like to hear thoughts, but the argument of "there are more important races to include first" doesn't carry much weight in this case due to how closely associated the CD and HK are in terms of content, geography, and asset development. If something like this is in the works, it would simultaneously explain why the content gap has been longer this period and shed some light on why the roadmap may not be available yet - from a business side, there may be indecision about including the Khanate as FLC for any WH3 owners like Bretonnia was for WH1 or to bundle it with the Chaos Dwarf pack to further encourage DLC sales and emulate the DLC/FLC Lord Pack format from WH2. The size and included territories in the combined map, the inclusion of Cathay as a core race (totally called it btw), and the format of the CoC pack. They're undoubtedly developing Hobgoblin assets to feature within the CD roster, so it's not a huge stretch to think that they're going one step further with an FLC race.ĬA has already subverted more conservative expectations several times with WH3. The only other FLC race has been Bretonnia, and while they obviously occupy a much more important and central place on the map, the Hobgoblins would only have 1 or 2 Legendary Lords at most.
